Meet the Founders: Clayton & Angelica

Mama Debbie's Art Emporium was founded by lifelong friends Clayton Morey and Angelica Shearer-Bakhsh, two creative souls with deep roots in Georgia and a shared passion for community, art, and connection. Friends since high school in Albany, Georgia, Clayton and Angelica's paths have woven through art, music, and hospitality—always guided by their love for people and creativity.

Both spent decades in Atlanta's vibrant restaurant scene, learning the importance of service, teamwork, and storytelling. Beyond their professional paths, their friendship thrived through music—hosting karaoke nights, performing together, and celebrating self-expression in every form.

Clayton is an artist, taekwondo instructor, and proud member of the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus, bringing energy, color, and inclusivity to everything he touches. Angelica is the heart behind the Bizarre Bazaar pop-up market and serves on the board of Scraplanta Creative Reuse, where she champions sustainability and creativity in the local arts scene.

Together, they dreamed of building a space that welcomes everyone—a creative hub where artists, makers, and dreamers can gather, learn, and grow. Mama Debbie's Art Emporium is that dream come to life: a place to create, collaborate, and celebrate the art of being human.
